Introduction

 

The First International Chinese Mass Spectrometry Conference was held in Xinjiang, China from July 31 to August 5, 2006.  This conference was a joint effort of the Chinese Society of Mass Spectrometry (CSMS) in China and the Chinese-American Society of Mass Spectrometrists (CASMS) in the United States.  The conference had oral presentations, workshops, and posters on the advancement of techniques and instrumentation in mass spectrometry, as well as fundamental research in chemistry, geology, biological sciences and physics.  Hundreds of scientists worldwide including the United States, Canada, China, England, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore attended this conference.
