Experienced scientist / engineer who will lead the design of new instruments based on mass spectrometry and ion mobility spectrometry. Duties include coordinating the efforts of the science and engineering team on multidisciplinary projects, developing ion optics providing system level instrument design input for mechanical, electrical, and software development; and leading the design of major subsystems; leading other scientists and engineers and working independently to develop complex analytical instruments using state of the art MS and IMS theories, practices and tools.
Requirements include a minimum of a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Chemistry or equivalent, plus demonstrated experience in developing complex lab instrumentation. >5 years relevant experience in mass spectrometry and ion mobility spectrometry is preferred.
Hands-on working experience with IMS and MS instruments;
Experience in analyzing complex samples using mass spectrometry and/or ion mobility spectrometry;
Excellent communication skills and proficient computer skills
Must be a permanent resident of the United States., U.S. citizen is preferred.
